Secretarial ComplianceThe Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on September 11, 2026, notified regarding the Implementation of Section 51A of the UAPA, 1967 – Updates to UNSC Sanctions Lists.

SEBI has advised securities market intermediaries to implement the latest amendments to the UNSC sanctions lists under Section 51A of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA), covering amendments to two entries in the ISIL (Da’esh) & Al-Qaida Sanctions List and one entry in the Taliban Sanctions List. Intermediaries are required to follow the Central Government procedure dated February 02, 2021, scan existing and future accounts to ensure that they are not held by or linked to sanctioned individuals or entities, and comply with applicable AML/CFT obligations. Any delisting request received shall be forwarded electronically to the Joint Secretary (CTCR), Ministry of Home Affairs, with a copy to the Ministry of External Affairs, while persons seeking removal may also approach the UN-appointed Ombudsperson.
